GenCell Corporation adds Vice President, Business & Marketing

Southbury, CT – April 28, 2003- GenCell Corporation (GenCell) has added a new member to its management team. Daniel R. Connors has assumed the position of Vice President, Business and Marketing at the Southbury, CT based fuel cell company.

Jeffrey Allen, GenCell's founder and president stated, "We are very pleased to have Dan join our team. During a long and extensive search that involved numerous highly qualified individuals, it became clear that Dan’s skills and experience fit extremely well with GenCell’s needs. He will work to develop our business opportunities by defining our customer’s requirements and positioning our products to our targeted market. Dan will also seek the investment capital and strategic partners that are needed to continue to grow the business. The company has matured to the point where these matters have become central to the continued development of GenCell’s 40 kW fuel cell power plant and fuel cell related products and services”. 

GenCell Corporation is involved in the design and manufacture of advanced, next-generation, fuel cell components and systems. GenCell strives to reduce the cost of key fuel cell components such as electrodes, bipolar separator plates, and fuel cell stack hardware while improving performance and life through the introduction of innovative design. By using proprietary design and manufacturing technology, GenCell is on the cutting edge of commercialization of fuel cell technology. 

GenCell's goal is to create a universal hardware package to support all leading fuel cell technologies for small-scale power plant applications of both stationary and automotive fuel cell systems.

GenCell Corporation has grown from three employees in 1999 to fifteen employees in 2003. The company receives funding for its fuel cell R&D and commercialization efforts from the Connecticut Conservation & Load Management Fund as well as the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund. The company is seeking additional investments and strategic partners that will add ten additional positions through 2004.
