"Opening an office within the European marketplace was the next logical step for us," said Duss. "Having a presence in Germany strengthens our commitment to our European customers and to bringing our technology and services closer to them. We look forward to further developing our existing relationships and building new partnerships within the community."
The Herten office has the capability to support a wide range of activities and will be a center for technical service and development. The Herten area was chosen because of its significant commitment to the development of fuel cell and hydrogen technology and products.
"IdaTech was fortunate to have the encouragement and support of the State of North Rhine Westphalia," Duss commented. "Additionally, the ongoing support of IdaTech's strategic partners RWE Fuel Cells and Bosch Buderus Technik played a significant role in the site selection and we anticipate that our relationships with them will be important to the growth and success of the office."
IdaTech's fuel cell solutions are based on a flexible, modular design which supports the development of systems with a range of outputs up to 50 kilowatts. These solutions incorporate IdaTech's fuel cell stack, proprietary multi-fuel fuel processing technology and fuel cell system integration expertise including automation and controls. With the support of strategic partners, the company's solutions are being deployed on a global scale for stationary and portable applications. IdaTech is a subsidiary of the Boise, Idaho-based energy and technology holding company IDACORP, Inc. (IDA).
