FRANKFURT (AFX) - Linde AG (Xetra: 648300.DE - news) said it plans to build a network of hydrogen gas stations along German highways in partnership with other firms in order to capitalize on the growing market for environmentally-friendly vehicles, chief executive Wolfgang Reitzle told Die Welt newspaper.

The company plans, in one possible scenario, to build one gas station at every 50 km highway in a project that would cost 30 mln eur in its first stage and could be expanded into a 'European hydrogen highway', Reitzle said.

Further financial details and a launch date for the project were not disclosed.
