HTC has developed proprietary technology called dry reformation of natural gas that converts natural gas into hydrogen, while utilizing C02 generated as part of the hydrogen reformation process. This process produces hydrogen cost effectively, cleanly and is scaleable to appliance size.
This new appliance sized unit will help accelerate the launch of the hydrogen economy as hydrogen will be able to be produced on-site at a fueling station, business or the home, at a very reasonable price. The market potential for this unit is expected to be substantial as there is a need for a low cost hydrogen production unit that can produce hydrogen utilizing the existing natural gas distribution network.
Mr. Lionel Kambeitz - Chairman and CEO stated, "We are very pleased with the research results we have achieved over the past year with our collaborative relationship with the University of Regina. We are in the process of filing United States provisional patents on the technologies we have developed, and our near term objectives are to complete the design and construction of two multi-feed stock hydrogen production test centres to be used as commercialization staging platforms."
