GM Announces Joint Effort to Bring Fuel Cell Vehicles to New York

On Thursday, January 27, General Motors and Shell Oil Company will announce plans to bring fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen refueling to New York.

A critical step in the development of the "hydrogen highway," the announcement is part of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Under the Infrastructure Demonstration and Validation Project, General Motors Corp. will be providing approximately 40 fuel cell-powered minivans and fuel cell-powered SUVs to the state of New York and Shell Oil will develop hydrogen refueling capabilities.
