The CUTE, ECTOS and STEP buses have covered a distance of 420,000 km by 3rd November 2004

The 33 CUTE, ECTOS and STEP fuel cell buses have covered a distance of 42 000 km by 3rd November 2004. 

During 33,000 hours of operation they consumed about 44 000 kg of hydrogen. 

These figures were released during the 2nd International Fuel Cell Bus Workshop held in Porto on 18 - 20 November.



Background:

The Fuel Cell Bus Club comprises the participants of the projects CUTE, ECTOS and STEP. They operate 33 fuel cell buses - the largest fleet in the world - and hydrogen refueling infrastructures in their cities. The Task Force for Security and Safety was established in June 2004.

Objective for the Task-Force for Security and Safety

The purpose of the Task Force is to facilitate the incident - reporting in CUTE, ECTOS and STEP. The objective is to provide a system that will encorage incident reporting, improve communication and contribute to improvment of  the safety level of the three projects.

The activities of the Task Force

The activities of the Task Force members is to report incidents and to be an active part of a forum for openness and discussion of safety and security related issues.

The Task-Force members will meet regularely on the CUTE, ECTOS, STEP, meetings every 6 monhts. Communication is mainly done by e-mail and phone, meetings if needed.
