The third quarter loss of 16 cents a diluted share compares to a net loss of $12.4 million, 20 cents a diluted share for the same period in 2003. Revenue rose to $4.6 million, up from $3.5 million during the third quarter last year.

For the year to date, Plug Power (Nasdaq: PLUG) reported a net loss of $34.9 million, or 48 cents a share, on revenue of $11.6 million. This compares to a net loss of $39 million, 68 cents a share on revenue of $9.5 million for the same period last year.

The year-to-date loss includes a charge of $3 million for the write-off of expenses related to a merger with H Power Corp.
