from 30 Countries to Converge on Toronto to Attend Global Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Conference |
The event will be kicked off on Saturday at 2 p.m. with key officials from Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Fuel Cells Canada, and the Canadian Hydrogen Association.
This year delegates from around the world will be able to hear keynote addresses from:
- Hon. Joe Volpe, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, Government of Canada
- Dr. Arthur Carty, National Science Advisor, Privy Council Office, Government of Canada
- Pierre Rivard, President & CEO, Hydrogenics Corp. & Dave Smith, Chief Financial Officer, Ballard Power Systems
The conference is sponsored by Fuel Cells Canada, the Canadian Hydrogen Association, the Government of Ontario, and the Government of Canada.
"Canada is a world leader in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and we are seeing the result of years of investment in this industry as clusters of expertise develop across the country," said Ron Britton, President and CEO, Fuel Cells Canada. "Canadian companies are known around the globe for their quality products and knowledge, both of which are being demonstrated at this year's conference."
Last year's conference was held in Vancouver, BC and was attended by delegates from 26 countries. At the conference Natural Resources Canada officials announced $14.1 million to support hydrogen fuel cell research.
"We are proud to offer a strong conference program on a variety of topics," said Dr. Tapan Bose, President of the Canadian Hydrogen Association. "This year's event will feature hydrogen and fuel cell advances taking place in North America, Europe and Asia, with contributions from delegates attending from over 30 counties."
Over 150 speeches, presentations and panel discussions will take place over the four-day show, featuring senior executives and officials from:
- BOC Gas - BC Hydro - Ontario Power Generation - Enbridge - Stuart Energy - Ford - General Motors - California Air Resources Board - Canadian Standards AssociationPublic demonstrations are also part of the conference, with the public invited to see fuel cell powered vehicles and attend education sessions at Nathan Phillips Square from Saturday, September 25 to Monday, September 27.
