Army Seeks Potential Fuel Cell Information
Publication Date:24-August-04

The Army Tank-Automotive Research Development and Engineering Command (TARDEC) is conducting a market survey to identify companies and partnerships that can perform modeling and simulation, lab testing, reformation research and development and fuel cell integration for a military environment.

The initial target is to develop and test a 5-20 kW APU prototype for the military within three to five years, according to the Aug. 25 issue of FBO Daily. Critical to the development would be research and development focused on onboard JP-8 fuel reformation.

TARDEC will investigate the technology area under an FY '05 Science and Technology Objective over the years FY '05 to FY '08.

The results of this survey will be used to refine the program plan and then an industry day will be held.
